Go Kart for the Kids

I started with a $20 Go Kart from a yard sale.

Then I sent it out to get sand blasted. It came back looking a little better.

Now it was time for some modification.

I started with fixing the factory welds.

Next, I decided to cut the frame so I could make it wide enough for two kids to ride.

Next, I used some 1 1/8th inch .058 wall tubing to get the width I was looking for.

I cut the front axels off, and moved them forward about a foot. Then I finished welding and sent the project out to get powder coated.

After Final Assembly, this is how it turned out...

Not too bad for a rusted out $20 dollar Go Kart!
